RENEW LIFE GENERATOR - VIOLET RAY MACHINE

This is crazy. Here's the backstory, pictures to follow.

My girlfriends dad's found a unique machine in a house called the old winston salem house, along with a Remington sword. The machine dates back to the 1800s (from Wikipedia) and we can't even find the exact one that we have on the internet. The machine spits out an electric shock, primarily used for muscle relaxation. We were watching "The Road Show", and saw a similar product, but it wasn't like ours. The machine is in working condition, and freaks me out (you'll see the pictures). Weird thing: it really does relax your muscles, while making you feel you're going to be electrocuted lol.

Lol, not sure if you want to use it, it's known to give a violet ray rash lol. Also when I turned it on, my computer completely froze. Was very weird. We came across the same link you posted as well, and verified that it was one of the cheaper machines.

We were actually trying to see was it worth anything to date, if anyone had that information.

Try this,, they have playlists with 'scary medical devices' among others !!  Maybe you can find it there !!

There were a lot of electric quack medical devices that made all kinds of claims. I would not use it again. There is no way of knowing what kind of regulators or lack of them are in place and what you might be inflicting upon your body. There are people and museums who collect quack medical devices, so there is a certain market for this kind of thing, I would think that one that lights up might be especially desireable. But I have to say really strongly, don't use this thing!

Since this is a self generating item,, it has a crank type handle,, I don`t know if it could be dangerous or not if used carefully !! I think turning the handle would probably generate volts but no amperage to speak of !! But its worth being careful with !!  Basically what it is,, is a home made battery/generator !!

There is an electrical cord attached so you can probably date by that. Any signs that it has been changed out?

The funny thing is these things are still used today and I imagine folks are still making tons of $$!!  For example:

Will you try anything to lose weight - except diet and exercise???
Then strap this baby onto your waist and let it deliver multiple shocks to your abs!!

Probably shouldn't use this if you have a heart condition!

One I saw,, not this one,,did not plug in !! Only had attachments that connected to body by wires !!  Do not use this on anyone that has a pacemaker or anything like that !!
Wierd thing is orthopedic doctors today use the same idea !!  Hubby had similar item to relax back muscles a few years back !!  Just made differently !!  Low voltage electrical shocks !!
