Drinking Glasses
« on: October 28, 2011, 12:09:36 pm »
Thanks for allowing me on this forum. I am trying to find more glasses like the ones in my photo. They stand 5.5" tall, Square bottom is 2 .1/4 " and the mouth is 3"  they twist as they go up towards the lip. There is no markings. I have no luck on the internet finding these. They were in my 92 year old mothers belongings. The glass is real thin at the rim.  Sure hope someone knows anything about these.

Offhand they look like something Libby would make !! And there is one of each color ?? Sometime when you find mixed colors they turn out to be premium glasses !! Like when you buy gas at a certain service station you get a free glass with a fill up !! My grandmother collected the goblets that she got free with oatmeal !!  Now they are collectable !! We have a few others that are better on glass than I am so wait and see what their opinion is !!

It was made by Consolidated Glass Company. It came two ways Jade, Lilac, and Sunshine are the Cased Colors. Jungle Green, Smoky Topaz are the Transparent Colors. Either one glass broke, or the were bought seperately. I have a feeling they broke a glass. This a very valuable collection. The book says if you own some of the plates, bowls or, vases, candlesticks, etc. your very lucky.

Greenacres  I'm sorry but I have to respectfully disagree I do not believe this is  Ruba Rombic by Consolidated Glass Company, Here is my reasoning as far as I know Ruba Rombic by Consolidated Glass Company did not make a blue shade  the colors I know of are honey, amethyst, French crystal, silver, green, topaz, sunshine, lilac, jade, jungle green, and smoky topaz also it was not done with that stippled pattern all I have seen are smooth. As far as I know they also did not make tumberlers or any ruba rombic with a solid block base like these glasses all bases were very angular as the rest of the pieces like these

I have many pictures and from what I'm looking at it looks very similar. What do you think it is? I'm just curios. The green is also similar to the book. It showed similar colors.  Is it the clarity of the glass?

I really compared them and I think I see what your saying. There are not enough demension to the glass.

I love the bowls and candlestick holders. I'll put them on my wishlist, lol The books give amounts, but I'm sure you would probably have to pay a little more than shows. Do many people sell these peices. I think I have one place to check. I've seen it there before. I'll post it when I find it.
