Need Value Help Antique Nicholas Powers Cameragraph No. 6B
« on: November 11, 2011, 01:37:59 pm »
Hi there! I came across this the other day picking and was interested in it as soon as i seen it! It's an antique cameragraph from 1904-1906 made by Nicholas Powers, and it the Cameragraph No. 6 B. I have only seen some prices for the 6A model and most of those examples were for incomplete parts for the cameragraph, this one looks most complete and comes with an original stand for the cameragraph. Info isn't too tough to find on this but values are. And i can't seem to find another example of this item!
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated guys and gals!
Thanks!  ;D

I found one collector site and the general answer given when anyone asks about values on any item like this is,,its worth whatever you can get for it !! It is not a big collectable market and even though the pat. date on yours is 1904 and 1906, they were made till the 20`s !! So they are not rare and if you can find a value on the A chances are the value on a B model would be about the same !!

The one on the hydroponics site was listed early this year,, on may 25th of this year,,the seller added some info !!  Its at the bottom of the description and its still there and hasn`t sold !!  Thats over 6 months it has been on that site !!  Can only assume that if it has been viewed over 180 times and no one was interested,,,its kind of a hard item to sell !!  On the reel,, the listing said that it had been spray painted black and was hanging on the wall of the projection room !!  I have heard  that the reels are being used by decorators as wall art !!  But who knows !!!

Just realized my plate says "projector" on it and NOT "cameragraph" ? Is there a difference?

No difference that I found !!  Essentially they are all projectors !! Cameragraph was  what that company decided to call theirs just to separate it from their competitors !!
Both the listings on those sites are from 2007 and 2008 !!
